In 1967, when Joseph was 9 years old, he found his first Tarot deck in an old trunk, in his great-aunt’s upstairs attic. It was a vintage and well used French Marseilles deck, and each card seemed to have its own unique beauty and meaning. But, what was it? The classical Tarot, which may be read like a book, provided another gateway into the esoteric arts. He was hooked.

An ordained minister, he also served as a professor of theology and religion for 27 years. Joseph has traveled widely and studied personally with some of the world’s most recognized teachers. He received his formal education in the U.S. and in Israel. He received the A.A.Sc. degree (‘79), his B.A. degree (‘80), the Diploma in Biblical Studies (‘83), and the M.Th. degree (‘85) in Systematic Theology; he holds the M.Sc. (‘96), and Ph.D. (‘98) degrees in Philosophy of Education.

In 1977, he took his first Yoga class and simultaneously began his studies in Gestalt Therapy. He then earned his diploma in Gestalt Therapy, (with Thesis), from the Gestalt Institute of New Orleans, serving on their faculty as well as teaching at The Gestalt Institute of Austin. Joseph received his diploma in Meditation Teacher Training from Bahktiyogshala. He served as a minister at the Flower of Life Church in Austin (at The Gardens of the Ancients) before making his home in 2016 in Huntsville, Texas.

Joseph conducts in-person Tarot consultations and readings. In person Tarot consultations are offered at his residence on the Square in downtown Huntsville. Each session comes with a warm welcome, a listening ear, as well as a good cup of tea 🫖☕️
